Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Folds to Hero, Hero raises to $7, only Villain in BB calls. Flop: ($15) Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Villain checks, Hero bets $12, Villain raises to $44, Hero calls. Turn: ($100) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Villain checks, Hero checks. River: ($100) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Villain leads for $65.

Weird hand. I'm guessing villain has like a average KQ or QJ and wanted to find out where he stood on the flop. I actually think you're not getting much value from anything more than a river minraise.

What i mean is i'm almost always raising, but that i don't think he calls a push.

Villain has less than $100 left. His range is heavily weighted toward AQ or KQ. Maybe a scared 33. I'd shove and expect AQ to look me up.

Its pretty tough to get called by worse since you checked turn. Your line is not at all consistent with a bluff, so he's not going to look you up light unless he can't read hands at all. Maybe a with a river push you're repping a 9 or better in his eyes, so I don't see much value in shoving.

A turn check shows timidity; doesn't that make AQ more likely to call a river shove than if I had bet the turn? I'm not speaking in regards to stack sizs -- I realize that betting the turn could have gotten us in. But he very well might fold the turn to a 3/4 PSB with a hand like AQ or KQ.
