I'd want a serious read to do this. He's got 1415 chips which looks like he's just been folding and playing very tight.

Your stack isn't deep enough to call and take a flop. I'd fold TT here. JJ I'd push against most opponents with semi aggressive stats or who I had seen do something really stupid previously. QQ is a mandatory push and JJ is pretty close IMO especially since your stack is so small and he's getting ~2:1 to call a shove.

I wouldn't just say to fold this. This is where reads and PAHud stats come in handy. Fold if he has been playing real tight and push if he's been playing loose. Against some people I'd push 99 here and maybe 88. I generally just default push JJ unless it's a real tight player, which generally means its a regular with whom I'm quite familiar and then I might fold.

Some kind of read would help. TT is the cutoff hand, JJ is a shove and 99 is a fold.

[ QUOTE ] Fold if he has been playing real tight and push if he's been playing loose. [/ QUOTE ] Just by looking at his chipstack he appears to have been playing tight. That is why I say to fold. Also OP, if you don't have pokertracker and PAhud you should get them. They are immensely helpful. Even 15 hands in PAhud would be very helpful here. If you don't have these, in the future try to at least provide a read as to how active the villain has been and perhaps even try putting him on a range. Essentially this post is asking us, what do you think his range is here? You certainly have more info on that than we do so you should at least try to figure out a range. |

TT is the cutoff hand, JJ is a shove and 99 is a fold. [/ QUOTE ] Clearly this isn't true. If I open in that position with 1400 chips and 7 people at the table JJ is a clear fold as you will have zero fold equity and be at best a coinflip |

I'm not. I thought your post was implying that JJ is an instapush regardless of reads. I was just trying to illustrate how important reads are at that point in the game. If it's a typical donk raising it's a pretty easy shove, if it's a maniac same goes, but if it's a nitty 15 tabler like me it's a clear fold.
