3 Trouble Hands at NL200 6m because I\'m rusty
I played every day for 3 or 4 weeks, but for the last week, I have been traveling and without an internet connection so I'm fairly rusty.
Hand 1: PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) UTG ($246.10) MP ($82.25) CO ($390) Hero ($203.75) SB ($619.30) BB ($200) Preflop: Hero is Button with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. UTG raises to $7, MP calls $7, CO calls $7, Hero calls $7, 1 fold, BB calls $5. Flop: ($36) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (5 players) BB checks, UTG bets $31, MP calls $31, CO folds, Hero raises to $100... UTG raiser is 24/17 so I assumes he has a clue. This raise is probably a set 90% of the time and a strong draw the other 10% of the time. I should hardly ever be bluffing here due to MP's call (he is very short). Ideally I get it all in vs MP in a coinflip or slight dog with tons of overlay. I'm assuming UTG is going to fold anything, but sets and AA/KK. What do you think? At the time I thought it was okay, but there is a chance BB wakes up with a hand, and I probably should've raised more if I decided to raise because it looks less like a weaker made hand likek A9 or TT trying to prevent draws or overcards from hitting. Hand 2: PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) CO ($838.75) Button ($260.25) SB ($173.55) Hero ($203) UTG ($469.15) MP ($294.15) Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. 2 folds, CO calls $2, 1 fold, SB completes, Hero checks. Flop: ($6) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) SB bets $2, Hero raises to $8, CO folds, SB calls $6. Turn: ($22) 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) SB checks, Hero bets $16, SB raises to $42, Hero calls $26. River: ($106) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) SB bets $121.55 (All-In), Hero calls $121.55. Final Pot: $349.10 Villain was 27/2 after 25 hands. He's not very good. He posted UTG+1 and called a raise his first hand. He supposedly folded a flush on the river getting 6.5 to 1 on that hand. His opponent showed a straight. This is 20 hands or so after so I don't think he's on tilt and I don't think he actually folded a flush, but who knows. I figured pushing the turn might let him off the hook too easy. I felt like I had the best hand on the turn for sure, but I'm unsure about the river push. Hand 3: PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums) Button ($211.60) SB ($352.20) Hero ($244.40) UTG ($535.45) MP ($251.95) Preflop: Hero is BB with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. UTG calls $2, 1 fold, Button calls $2, 1 fold, Hero checks. Flop: ($7) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players) Hero bets $6, UTG raises to $12, Button folds, Hero calls $6. Turn: ($31) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero bets $24, UTG raises to $48, Hero calls $24. River: ($127) J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) Hero checks, UTG bets $78, Hero raises to $182.4... UTG was bad. He was the fish at the table. He was 40/8 after 70 hands at the table. One of the first hands at the table he overplayed TPNK in a limped pot and doubled up a shortstack. Then I saw him c/c flop, c/c turn, and c/minraise river on a 986 7 2 board in a limped pot and get called down. Basically he sucks. Does everyone agree with the line? Once he minraised the flop and turn I was almost positive he was never checking behind river with any part of his range. |

All 3 look fine to me to be honest. You could probably just call in the first hand and play it straight forwardly but I don't mind the raise. NHs

Re: 3 Trouble Hands at NL200 6m because I\'m rusty
1 is fine/good
2 depends how good he is, because it looks like you have what you have 3 worked out for you, but i would play it differently. probably a flaw in my game though |

KLJ,
Do you just bet river for value in hand 3? |

Re: 3 Trouble Hands at NL200 6m because I\'m rusty
I don't really like hand 1 since there are 2 players in before you and one left to act behind.. i don't think you have much FE here. I'd prefer a call to improve.
Hand 2 & 3 ok. |

Re: 3 Trouble Hands at NL200 6m because I\'m rusty
Hand #1, I probably raise slightly more, $120 or so.
Hand #2, I push turn. I probably shove river in hand #3 unless I KNOW hes going to bet pretty much every time I check to him on riv. The way you played them is probably fine as well. We just play differently, and everyone has different EV on each play because of image, style, etc etc. |

[ QUOTE ]
Hand #1, I probably raise slightly more, $120 or so. [/ QUOTE ]I think this is very valid. I should've made it very obvious that UTG had no FE whatsoever without actually pushing myself (because then he can convince himself that I'm on a draw). [ QUOTE ] Hand #2, I push turn. [/ QUOTE ]I considered it. I thought I might let him off the hook too easily, but I think this is the optimal line. [ QUOTE ] I probably shove river in hand #3 unless I KNOW hes going to bet pretty much every time I check to him on riv. [/ QUOTE ]I think this is bad. In the hands I listed, he is OVERPLAYING weak hands. I thought pushing into someone who is probably overplaying a weak hand would have lower expectation than letting him betting again. |

Re: 3 Trouble Hands at NL200 6m because I\'m rusty
I dunno, when people min-raise it tells me they either 1) would love to felt, or 2) are on a stupid random bluff
#1 I am happy with, and #2, I'm not making more money anyway. [ QUOTE ] I thought pushing into someone who is probably overplaying a weak hand would have lower expectation than letting him betting again. [/ QUOTE ] ok if this is your read, NH. |

Re: 3 Trouble Hands at NL200 6m because I\'m rusty
I play none of these hands this way, but I may suck
I just call the flop in hand 1 I push the turn in hand 2 I 3-bet the turn in hand 3, or bet the river - never check |
