Hi folks,
I'm currently successfully playing 0.50/1 NL hold em on pokerstars. I've played this for the last month or so and am up ~500. I'm making the transition from playing B&M 2/5 NL. What do you all use as your measure for when you should consider moving up ? The 3 ideas I"ve considered are: 1. Simply wait for my bankroll to get high enough so that I can play at the next level (already there) 2. Wait for x months of playing or y hours of playing at whatever win rate you decide is appropriate. 3. Use your own confidence as a measure and attempt a trial move up. Obviously some sort of objective measure should be the basis for this confidence Thanks in advance! |

I could be extremely sarcastic and would probably be right for doing such, but I won't. Instead I'll leave you these words from a true master.

I would say that at the low levels the limiting factor for moving up usually is bankroll. I'm sure there are a lot of 2p2ers playing 25NL that could beat bigger games, if given the bankroll.
If you feel confident in your skill level relative to your opponents and have the bankroll for it, I don't see why you wouldn't move up. But, I've always used a pretty aggressive strategy when moving up. That being said, having only won $500 I'm sure you haven't played much. So, your ability to judge your skill level maybe be a little suspect. |

that was written a long time ago. its still stands the same, just move the skills up one level, eg NL100 today = NL50 then
