Default Something weird I started doing

I started, in october, to write down - in as much detail as i can remember - any dreams I had that were vivid and real enough to wake me up in the middle of the night or that I remembered in the morning. Usually nightmares, but I suppose a regular dream would suffice.

I'm not sure what I plan to do with them. But I've transposed the notes into a .txt file and just keep adding to it. I have about 10 in there right now.

What should I do with them?

Take them to like a psychologist and see what he thinks?
Read them 10 years from now for nostalgia?
Post them here?
Does anyone care?

I don't know if this whole thing has any redeeming value, but I'd like to find out if it does.

Just dreams = keeep them for nostalgia, or maybe try to interpret yourself.
regular nightmares = maybe see a psychologist.

Don't expect the psychologist to do any dream interpretation, but maybe their is a reason for the nightmares he can uncover through other methods.

I did this a couple times and I always am surprised by them. Most of it I have no memory of writing down or having the dream. It's pretty cool. I wanted to work on remembering all my dreams and learning to control them better, but I got lazy.

What is the basic technique for this? I've always meant to pick up a book on the subject but have never gotten around to it.

I can't stand my dreams. Incredibly vivid, not really nightmares, but not enjoyable either. There always seems to be a feeling of impending doom.

You should start the "***Official*** OOT dreams" thread. I've had quite a few, the most recent being just the other night.

This is my experience: When you start writing down you dreams, your dreams become aware that you are paying attenion to them, and will start providing you with better, more meaningful dreams. If you keep writing them down, you will get a dream that knocks your socks off. You'll know it when you see it. Keep writing them down.

If you'd like, read some Jung, or the Deptford Trilogy by your fellow Canadian, Robertson Davies. Davies has some interesting thoughts on the process, but you have to wade through a couple of novels before you get to them.

The mother of all dreams are coming to you soon... be aware. Be very aware.

Basically, the way to remember your dreams is to set off your alarm for 15-20 minutes before you usually wake up.

You have to start doing things in life that lets you know if you are dreaming or not. I think one example was looking at a clock and seeing if the time was right and then looking away and looking back to see if it was the same. I didn't read too much into it and it has been awhile, but there are some examples on the web.

Found this link real quick, didn't read it. http://wuzzle.org/cave/dream.html

I know the first step is writing everything down and that does actually help you remember your dreams more frequently as you do it. In just a week I was having dreams that I could remember every night one night I even woke up, wrote something down, and went right back to sleep into the same dream.
