There was a lot of cringeworthy prose in that book. But I guess it went by pretty quick.

the book was over-hyped. I read ~10-15 books a year.

The book had an entertaining stoy but wasn't particularly well written. Deffo not a bad "long plane/train ride" book.

I haven't seen the film so can't comment.

It was a good book. Not near as good all the hype would lead you to believe, but I enjoyed reading it, and will read it again. I probably read 21+ books a year.

It wasn't a good book, but it sure as hell was entertaining. Perfect for a long plane ride 1/2 way across the world while baaaallliiinn. FWIW I've read almost 20 books the past 6 months. DON'T see the movie, I've heard it's absolute dreck and Hanks' worst career performance. I think the movie is soiling Brown's rep as an author a bit. I'm sure he's absolutely livid about it when he checks all his various account balances. I read he almost cracked the 9 digit mark for his pretax income in 2006.

The book was horrible. Every chapter ended in a cliff hanger and there was like 30 chapters. It was poorly written; the vocabulary in the book was meant for kids in middle school. Also, elementary concepts had to be explained like the reader didn't get it... that is insulting.

I read a lot.
