Default UK Horse Racing Picks

Hello all,

Been reading this forum for awhile now, and spoke to Performify earlier in the week about starting a thread like this based on UK Horse Racing. I'm not too familiar with a lot of the terminology used here or procedures, ie: I have never considered betting in "units", however I will try my best to fall in Any help or tips would be appreciated. I bet all over the place, but for the sake of this thread I've deposited a certain amount at Bet365, and will bet in units of 1 at a time just to keep track

I won't go into a history of my betting because obviously results speak louder, so lets just get on with it. Please note that odds on horse racing usually don't come out until about 3 hours before the race, and so I usually just bet on the starting price.

Two bets today - Pablo Du Charmil in the 2:05 Warwick race and Little Richard in the 1:55 Wolverhampton.

Also add Wyldello in the 2:35 @ Warwick, and e/w on Florida Dream in 3:05 Warwick and Boo at 2:25 in Wolverhampton.

Pablo - Won. +0.23 units.
Little Richard - Won. +1.88 units.
Wyldello - Lost, -1 unit. Was a length and a half ahead too, but jockey error cost us.
Boo - Lost. -1 unit. Still an +EV bet, but was just outclassed.
Florida Dream - Came through, +2.6 units.

My Record: +2.71 Units.

Nice. Would be interested to see what a good LT UK horse racing record looks like, as US horse racing is tough to beat.

First off hopefully I can go into more details about my picks in a few days; my sleep schedule is off at the moment. Usually I go to bed at 10pm, wake up at 6am and have plenty of time. However I've been staying up all night and crashing at noon the past week or two, and so around 7am I put on my bets for the day and then go lie in bed and watch the races

Today:

Exeter 2:25: Dream Alliance
Catterick 2:00: Supremes Legacy
Southwell 3:15: Wessex e/w
Cheltenham 1:40: My Way De Solzen. Will be a tight race, I see MWDS and Turko neck and neck.
Fairyhouse 3:15: JustPourit

1 unit on each.

Bets today:

12:40 Ayr: Categorical
3:45 Ayr: Caesars Palace, E/W. Going to be a TIGHT race, but I see Caesars placing here.

1:30 Folkestone: Supreme Huntress. Banker.
2:00 Folkestone: Ofarel D'airy. Horrible odds, but money is money and you can't get more of a sure thing than this one. (Famous last words I bet)

Funny, it was one of those days where I almost didn't want to bet, and how right I was! -2.88 units for a -3.05 total. Two 14-1s came in to screw me, can't do anything about that

However funny story. Someone was offering 1000-1 on Betfair, for a horse that was 125-1. Someone took it for 40 pounds....and the horse won. Oops!

Hmmmm, I have heard a couple people tell me horse betting is where the money is at so I have often thought about getting involved(they were probably just talking BS). It just doesnt intrigue me enough to keep up with it if I am not actually at the races live.
