Default POTAWATOMI: BLOCK LONG BACKUP TO ENTER PARKING GARAGE

Potowatomi is a construction nightmare. What are they building and when is it expected to be completed? There is already construction occuring on the interstate in front of it. Now, you have to manuever through a construction site, to get in there.

250 million dollar expansion. Probably will be like this for 2 years.

Good point. For this reason I always give myself an extra 30 minutes to get there if I call in because you can waste that much time waiting in that line or driving around in the parking structure. Especially toward the end of the week when the bingo picks up.

There have been a few times that I thought I was making good time only to be held up by parking, and arriving at the board almost a minute after my name disapeared. I usually just leave then. (Im not waiting another 2 hours)

Im surprised you left your post down in Kenosha waiting for their casino to open up. (you said you were going to wait for that to open)

Does anyone know the best way to go about getting there from the freeway? I take the streets so I just make my way to the 16th street bridge and go down to canal from there, at least you get into the casino area quicker.

I cant imagine coming from the West, that's got to suck. (if you are coming from the north or south, just get off on National and go to 16th, etc....)

But it's construction, it's very hard to blame that on them, they are just trying to make their casino better, hard to do that without some construction nightmare, especially when you are in such a crappy location.

How did you like the new poker room? Despite what games are or arent running there, I think in terms of ambience (which I actually dont even care about), it looks a lot nicer than before. Being able to see the cards is a big plus as well. (in the old room I couldnt even make out my own hole cards sometimes it was so dark)

What time did you go?

Bingo is usually at like 1pm, 6pm, and 11pm so anytime an hour or two before bingo starts you're probably going to have a lot of traffic. And to make it worse - if the previous bingo session hasn't gotten done yet, you have those 1500 people using up parking spots and 1000 more trying to find a spot before the next set.

I just take 43rd down to miller park and hop on canal street. Takes all of 6 minutes.

If you drive past the parking garage, there is an open parking lot west of the garage.

Ive thought of that, I think it has a shuttle as well. Didnt want to risk it because Im usually pressed to make my call in, but might be better than driving around the parking structure everywhere.

It's pretty far away as well I heard.

I drove more than an hour to get there, saw the line, and kept going. I never parked. I was going to see about a hundred hands, before Tunica next month. I can do that online.

Wow, usually the line doesnt take that long, not enough that it's worth leaving after a one hour drive anyway. Of course if you didnt call in you would of been waiting another 2 hours anyway.

Most people would at least park and see the list and then drive away in either case rather than just get upset about a line in parking. Ive been in the block long line before, it usually moves.

Worst time was it took me a half hour to find a spot. But if you call in, drive a little more than an hour, take 30 minutes to find a spot, that means you'll still have time to check in before your 2 hours is up, and you're likely to be there just in time to almost get on a table anyway. (average wait times have been 2 - 2.5 hours lately)

In fact if it wasnt for the blessed line you'd get there early and you'd end up sitting around anyway, probally getting frustrated from the sound of it.

Maybe the Kenosha casino will open up soon, then you can wait down there for a table. ;-)
