Default Is My Overpair Poo?

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $6 BB (6 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Button ($591)
SB ($1383.25)
BB ($600)
Hero ($1243.80)
MP ($878.80)
CO ($227.25)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
Hero raises to $24, MP raises to $55, 2 folds, SB calls $52, 1 fold, Hero calls $31.

Flop: ($171) T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players)
SB checks, Hero checks, MP bets $140, SB folds, Hero?

MP runs at roughly 30/15 over a small sample. also that reraise size is normal for them, and its not the first one in the 3ish orbits since they sat. Preflop seems fairly automatic although I did briefly consider 4-betting because SB was a pretty big donk.

How bad is leading this flop? With the SB still to act after the PF raiser, it makes him play fairly straight forward...

... it makes the hand easier to play, but it might not be the most +EV way to play it.

I'm not sure why everyone just says fold here. Is MP's 3 bet range here specificaly AA or KK? Not AK or some other suited broadways? Without leading this flop all you're doing is guessing, unless past history with this opponent says a PF 3 bet against you has you beat.

I dont know that this is such a clear fold. I think that with 100x starting stacks its a close (but pretty standard) fold, because my only other option is sticking my stack in. Here though, with call being a viable option given the stacks behind, im not sure that peeling one off isnt better. I think he has to check a pretty a high % of his big card hands for folding to be unequivically correct here.

Fold > Push > Call

Let's say you call. What do you do if he bets the turn, or checks the turn behind and bets the river? You're not getting any more information, and you'll just put in exactly as much as he wants you to.

So the options are push and fold. His lead was very strong, and I think he'd be a little more reluctant to bet out here into you two without a pretty strong hand. You'll fold to JJ here sometimes but I think you're behind a fair amount, and if you push you'll only be called by better hands.

Without more of a read that he's tricky or reraises light (esp over an EP raiser), I think it's a fold.

you could quickly call and have 14 outs (6, 9, J, Q, maybe the three 10s are outs as well), only problem is stacks maybe arent deep enough for him to fold his AA/KK.

either that or lead flop and he folds his AK/AQ but raises with his AA or KK.

or check fold. realise you were set mining and stick to that goal.

Um, if you're planning on getting him to fold his overpair for less than a PSB when a 6/9/J falls, you're kidding yourself.
