Best way to play against the shortstackers?
What is the best way to play against these guys? Not playing at all? I can get all in preflop with AA versus them and sadly the shortstackers usually win and then they rathole giving me no chance to get my money back.
Doesn't anyone notice that there is not that many people that have 2x 3x 4x the max buyin anymore? Hell I am at a table right now with no one over the max buy in. Have the big pots become that rare? |

Loosen up preflop, get less aggressive, and rely on good aggressive postflop play.

DO NOT RAISE PREFLOP WHEN A SHORT STACKER LIMPS FROM THE EP [/ QUOTE ] I would think sometimes you could leverage a short stack raise to get a lot of dead money in the pot. For example, you are UTG with a strong hand. Short stack is the BB. You put in a small raise and get a bunch of calls and short stack raises all-in. Now you can put in a big raise and get heads up with the short stack. I haven't tried this, so I could be wrong. Paul |
