Things I almost never do that all yall probably do
-River sexy
-check/raise flop with no PF raise -raise for a free showdown -screwplay -bluff at small pots on the turn (i.e., in SB, CO limps, you complete, BB checks, flop is dry and checked around, turn is still dry and lead with air) -raise/fold to a 3bet on the river whoops, i forgot to put all of that in caps So am I probably hurting my winrate by not doing these? |

If almost never doing these hurts your winrate, then I'm hurting mine as well.

Re: Things I almost never do that all yall probably do
I do all of those but probably not (hurting your WR). Sexies are fun but mostly for psychological purposes when I feel like pwning a Lag and I'm on tilt. The one thing I'd least want to give up is C/R'ing flops in unraised pots, because everyone autobets when checked to HU.

Re: Things I almost never do that all yall probably do
I think that the correct opportunities to try these plays don't come up all that often in the first place. Then, you have to decide to do them when the conditions are right. So, I think it's correct to almost never do them in general.
The one I find myself in position to do most often (and which I follow through on) is to bluff at small pots on the turn if no one has yet shown interest. |

No, it's definitely true that I'm on tilt for the majority of my attempted sexy's
That of course doesn't mean the play doesn't have merit. |

Re: Things I almost never do that all yall probably do
In an optimal play style:
You have to sexy to balance your range of river checks You have to screwplay to balance your range of turn checks I think bluffing the turn and c/ring unraised pots is good poker too. |

Re: Things I almost never do that all yall probably do
sexy and screwplay is important and will definitely help the winrate. it gives stupid TAGs a reason to call down a marginal hand that they often wouldn't have even called a c-bet with. For example:
Villain is 26/16/2 over 100 hands Poker Stars Limit Holdem Ring game Limit: $3/$6 4 players Converter Pre-flop: (4 players) Hero is SB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] UTG folds, Button raises, Hero 3-bets, BB folds, Button calls. Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (7SB, 2 players) Hero bets, Button calls. Turn: T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4.5BB, 2 players) Hero checks, Button bets, Hero raises, Button calls. River: 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (8.5BB, 2 players) Hero bets, Button calls. Results: Final pot: 10.5BB Villain mucks 98o |
