Default Recomend me some 360 games

Ok, so for the past like, 6 years I've still been playing my original PS1. My family decided it was time for me to upgrade and popped for a 360 for me for Christmas. I have no idea what games are great and what games blow. I got Splinter Cell: Las Vagas, and its awesome. I've played some XBox, PS2, etc and these are the types of games I enjoyed...

Sports games. Love Madden. Will definetly get that eventually. My buddy had MVP baseball for XBox and I loved that one too.

Shooting games. Rainbow 6 is amazing. I've played Narc before and really enjoyed that. I'm not picky as long as they aren't crazy difficult. Full Spectrum Warrior was also a game I enjoyed.

Things I don't like- Role playing games, fantasy games, etc. Things you could not possibly believe to be real. I played Fable a few times and hated it. Bored the hell out of me. Anything where you spend hours and hours running around looking for a key to unlock a door.

I also played one of the HitMan games for a while. It was pretty cool, but it got really boring after a while. I don't like games that make think so far in advance...I play video games to be entertained.

So if you could, recomend me a couple games to go blow my best buy gift cards on. Thanks.

Eh...the commercial looked badass, but then I heard it's a game about battling giant robot spider? I mean, WTF?

Oh, and Halo2 was the greatest game I've ever played. Never played the campaign, but played the multiplayer version online with some friends. I could do that for hours.

Gears is awesome and you fight a spider like two times in the whole game. I am in the minority that likes R6 better though

Wow someone told you wrong. Gears of war is a very violent game with lots and lots of shooting and a gun that has a chainsaw bayounet. It is an awesome game and is completly worth your money

There are some really good shooters out there. You say you got Splinter Cell: Las Vegas. It's either Splinter Cell: Double Agent or Rainbow Six: Vegas. Both are good.
Gears of War is the best shooter I've played on the 360. I haven't tried Rainbow Six yet but I hear it's also really good.
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter is good.
Call of Duty 3 is also really good if you like WW2 shooters.

So - one more vote for Gears of War from me.

Edit: If you like racing games, then Burnout Revenge is the best one, IMO. Project Gotham Racing 3 is good too.

If you like GTA, Saint's Row was a lot of fun.

As everyone else has said GoW is just awesome.

Fight Night 3 is a lot of fun and looks great. Also the launch game Call of Duty 2 was a really good game and you should be able to get it cheap.

Sorry...Rainbow 6: Vegas. I just finished it, and am truly amazed at how awesome it was. Never heard of Saints Row or Dead Rising. Both of these the same type of game? May have to re-evaluate my opinion of Gears of War as well.
