Live local tourney - AA in 2nd level

We in the 2nd blind level, started with 3500 in chips, BB is t100.

Read on Villan is that he has raised preflop on 3 hands so far (3x each time). Twice he made cbets on the flop and took down the pot showing TT and 99. The other time he raised was the hand right before the one I'm going to ask about, he raised, and then the short-stack at the table raised all-in to about 1400, folded to him and he mucked (would have had to call 1100).

So here is the hand:
I have ~ 3900, Villan has me covered, he's UTG and raises 3X, I'm UTG+1 and see Ac, Ah, I min raise to 600 (I know people hate that, but I didn't want to lose him considering the previous hand, and I didn't want to limp to invite others into the hand), it was folded to him and he calls.

Flop: Kh, 5h, 2d (pot 1350 - my stack 3200)
He checks, I bet ~ 700 he calls

Turn: 8d (pot 2750 - my stack 2500)
He checks, I push.

Thoughts?

Preflop I raise to t900.

Rest is fine.

Villain only calls push if he has you beat, because he has a pretty good read on what your cards are.

I would make it 800 and maybe make the same raise with AK. The donk minireraise is often AA/KK. It doesn't accomplish much and is a tell.

Flat calling is fine too if you think someone else is likely to reraise. If you think you are likely to get a bunch more flat callers, then you need to reraise.

Yeah, I like re-raising a little more PF. If you get a little more money in the pot now, you can make a bigger bet on the flop, which makes the push on the turn make all that much more sense. Going to 800 PF puts 1750 in the pot and leaves you with 3100. You can bet 1000 pretty safely on the flop at that point, leaving you 2100 behind with a pot of 3750. Now your push on the turn is a bit easier for him to call, which is what you want.

Let's say I followed this line and Villan open pushed on the turn... should you call there? Or fold with 21BB left?


Also, using the (hated [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]) min raise line that I took, is there any other option besides pushing on the turn? A smaller bet is essentially commiting me to the pot anyway, isn't it?

bet smaller on turn because people love to call bets live as long as they're not allin.

As others have said, 900 pf or just call.

Being a dealer and having a lot more live experience than most posters on this forum, I certainly have to agree with 0evg0's post where he said people just love to call live when they are not allin. 1300 is a perfect example of this and has a near perfect chance of being called while the allin might scare off JJ-QQ which is what I personally am putting him on.
