Pretty tight table, hadn't picked up any playable hands or opportunities thus far to build my stack.

With blinds so high I can't wait for a hand to drop in my lap and have to try and exploit steal opportunities.

I'd played pretty tight myself and this was my first spot to open a pot in quite a few hands.

Should I wait for a hand that might stand up if called or do the blinds really dictate that I should be pushing with any 2 here?

If the table, including yourself, was pretty tight, then this move is fine. Unfortunate that it had to be a 5 high but like you said, can't be waiting around with those blinds.
