Flame me in blind defense vs. TAG?
Your gallant hero is in the BB with 33.
Folded to 25/22/3.4 SB (over 250). He'll fire A high 3 barrels unimproved. I call (most of yall want the 3b I assume) Flop 982 monotone. He bets, I call. Turn 9, makes 2 to a flush. He bets I call. River 7, flush misses. He bets I call. Eh? |

Re: Flame me in blind defense vs. TAG?
What are the advantages of three-ing 33 here? I like the line. Wondering how it would change if playing zone cards turned or rivered? e.g. can you get away from the 33 on the turn if a king comes off? what about if an ace rivers? Probably not. It seems like your entire decision on this hand depends on the flop texture. You're either showing down... or your folding there. Thus, why not see the flop as cheap as possible?

I think this is pretty standard against someone who will bet all streets w/ A high. Is a flop raise a bad idea?

Re: Flame me in blind defense vs. TAG?
Would you check behind on the turn if called or evaluate based on the turn card (e.g. bet a baby and check behind on a big card)... then call any river lead?

Re: Flame me in blind defense vs. TAG?
Yeah, I think the turn is really the "decision" street here. I have no problem calling the flop and folding the turn if it sucks, but if I call the turn I'm almost always calling down.

[/ QUOTE ] If I raised the flop I would bet any turn card except an A or a K. I would have the same plan on the river. Now that I think about it I don't really like a flop raise that much. |

[/ QUOTE ] Youre right DC, this is the decision street. Notice a hand like K4 has nine outs to beat your hand on the river. If you think this guy is betting the turn with alot of these hand types amd he will incorrectly fold to your turn raise, then there is certainly an incentive to raise the turn. However if this guy will bluff the river very frequently,I would usually rather call the turn which is why I liked the way you played your hand. |

Re: Flame me in blind defense vs. TAG?
Prefect vs. this guy IMO.
I'd 3-bet most people though. PP like fold equity in general because they're mostly 50/50 propositions if it goes to the river. If you get a fold on the flop though when sb misses, a PP is mostly a 2-1 favorite. |
