$200 SNG Question
You have gotten your starting 1500 in chips up to 2100. Blinds are 50-100. All nine players are still there. You open on the button for 200 with a pair of sevens. Big blind moves all in for 1300 total. You have never seen him before.

don't min raise. next. [/ QUOTE ] Agree. As played getting 1.4 to 1 I fold, but it's very close. I think an unknowns range will have 1.4 to 1 beat on average. This question seems suspicious. If we had raised to 300 and he pushes then I call. |

Re: $200 SNG Question
It depends on whether we are supposed to infer anything about pushers range from the fact that we are in the 3rd or 4th level and there apparently has been pretty tight play, since no one has been knocked out.
This is very close, given the sparse information we have, which makes it look like this has been a weak/tight table to get so far with no one knocked out. Villain needs to be on a range of something like 77+, AJo+,A8s+, KQ for a 0tEV, and that looks pretty loose to push against our raising range. We still have a solid stack if we fold, so "tight makes right" SnG strategy makes this look like the way to go. |

Re: $200 SNG Question
Firstly, I don't like it. As played, very easy fold. This would get flamed in STTF.

Re: $200 SNG Question
as already pointed out its sorta taboo to min-raise here. however lets assume the hand and through logic, if the SB had a stack smaller than 1300 then this would be a fold, and if SB had a larger stack than your 2100 which i assume is the more likely scenario then this is a call.
but i would make this call most of the times since there are 9 ppl left |

don't min raise. next. [/ QUOTE ] QFT As played, fold, but it's close. The worse player (or the less good) you are in comparison to the others (besides him), the more you should tend to call, and vice-versa. |

Re: $200 SNG Question
Fold, You're coin flipping at best, and you will probably get at least one or two more chances later in the SnG to exploit bad play by the other players when it gets to push/fold poker.
