First PLO post $2/4 - bad laydown i think
This is my first PLO post but have been playing Holdem fulltime for quite awhilw now. Running bad so I figured I'd try a new game. I'd love to hear what you guys think about this hand.
Stars $2/4 PLO game. 1 limper in EP and I limp in MP with 7644 suited to the 7. The SB calls and we're 4 to the flop ($16 pot). The flop is 985 rainbow. The SB pots and the limper calls. ($48 pot) I decide to call and decide to send in as many chips as possible on the turn if the board doesn't pair and the top wrap doesn't get there. Is that really bad that I decided to not repot right away?! Turn is a Q bringing a flush draw the SB checks and the limper bets $40 into a pot of about $64. I decide he's weak and pot raise. I figure if he repots I can fold and if not I've probably got him. The river pairs the 5 and he sends in his last $139 into a pot of $276. I fold and now I'm not sure if this was a lousy decision or not. All comments appreciated. |

The Q on the turn making a flush is the absolute worst card on earth, easy fold end of story.

Sorry if I was unclear the Q brought 2 hearts and did not complete a flush. The flop was a rainbow. Change things?

Re: First PLO post $2/4 - bad laydown i think
If I've got that far, I generally call on the river. I don't like preflop either. There seems something generally wrong to me about just calling when you've got the best hand and raising when there's an obvious drawing hand out there that beats you, but from a logical point of view I like flop and turn.

I'm new to this game also, but I think that potting the flop would be best because there are many draw combinations out there that have the potential to get there on the turn. Playing the flop hard, would help you feelmore reassured about the lay down on the river.

Re: First PLO post $2/4 - bad laydown i think
the fact that you can flop one of the best possible outcomes for your hand (nuts on flop with rainbow board), and STILL be unsure how to play the flop, turn and river and its not just you since you've gotten conflicting advice, means that you shouldn't play this preflop, imho
as played on i think you can raise or call on the flop with raising maybe slightly better, and i like the turn/river play -g |

Thanks for all the comments. I think I agree with Gergery that I could just let this go preflop with only 1 other player limping in.
I also feel better about my river fold. |

I almost always play this hand here, you have a co-ordinated hand with position on the 3 players most likely to be involved.
I think you played it fairly well, you have some tough decisions on every street. |

Let's say you pot raised the flop, he calls, the Q comes and he leads all in for his last $110 or so, what do you do there?
