Default Full Tilt $6.50 and $12 Turbos - Getting Tighter

Hi all,

Been playing the $6.50 and $12 Turbo SNGs for more than 6 months now. Has anyone noticed that the players are getting tighter and less donky? Eg: In the first few months of play, I will often see players go all-in first hand with A-J, A-K or even pocket tens. (Which I tried to experiment by going all-in with A-A first hand and got called by 8-8…easy double up, heh heh).

But lately, there’re fewer such all-in plays and nowadays at the 120/240 blinds level, it is common to see 5-6 players still in, playing super tight rockish with only 4-6 big blinds to post. Quite different from the past…seems like tight play is more prevalent in the SNGs now.

Any common experience to share?

The 1-Table Tournaments forum has had many many threads on this recently... quite a few people believe the sky is falling for SnGs.

This post has been locked in the 1-table forum due to "irrelevance" so posting here.

No I don't believe the sky is falling for SNGs but it just means an edge has to be found by pushing with more marginal hands...or playing better postflop. Niediam, ever observed this phenomenon?

Online poker in general is getting harder. People are going to have to improve their game or they will start losing money.

I think cashgames have not changed whatsover and there are still plenty of donks everywhere , SnGs however maybe a different story. Just start playing cashgames would be my advice

I moved part of my br to UB this morning and the 3/6 limit CG's were pretty tight late in the afternoon and in the US evening... it was alright in the early afternoon though.

By pretty tight I mean many hands don't have a flop, and those that see a flop are usually 2-3 players.. :S
