Obviously, he had outs to the next SNG. Probably thought position would make up for domination(LOL) and narrowed you down to AQ+. When he saw the flop, viewed your immediate push as a steal attempt on a huge pot. Knew you probably didn't have AJ due to position/raise and was betting you wouldn't commit yourself with JJ/TT preflop in early position when your stacks that healthy, so he called thinking he had you reverse dominated.
