Default Button raises my blind, I am big stack with 87s

$100, 47 players left 36 places pay. I am in 5th place. Villain has loose PT stats, but I don't think he is stealing here. Push, call, or fold?

If I'm gonna push here, the Button has to have been quite agressive preflop earlier.

Flatcall allows you to see a flop.

Check to opponent, if it's a good flop, he's aggro, he'll c-bet it. Repop him then.

I don't think he is stealing here.

[/ QUOTE ]Why not? Does he not steal a lot?

If I don't think this is steal, I probably call and check/raise AI if I hit the flop hard (a draw or 2 pair). If I think this is a steal then I push.

But I'm not necessarily good at blind defense.

I don't think he is raising the big stack's blind with junk, but I don't think he needs a big hand to raise from the button.

Probably, I have significant folding equity. He probably only calls with something like AQ+, 99+, so if he is raising significantly looser I have FE.

[/ QUOTE ]Well I probably push then because the pot is already significant to your stack, you have a resonable hand ifcalled, and this might tighten his raising range in future hands.

Like I said, though, I am not good at blind defense- I basically tend to push a lot in these spots. I rarely flat call, which may be a leak. If I was going to call, this would be the kind of hand I would call with.

I do not like a call here because vilain stack is too short to make significant money in the long run.

Alternatives are to fold or raise and since you do not think he his stealing well I would fold and look for a better oportunity down the road.

Disagree. Hero's calling t1200 which he can easily risk to create a t4350 flop pot. Villain will have t12.1k behind, so it's t1.2 invested to extract t13.9 from Villain. Plenty enough. Even if you account for the fact Hero won't jack his stack every time, the times he does win the pot uncontested should make up for the c/f's. Figure the antes make the math palatable for a flatcall.
