fold pre-flop, cold-calling raises w/KQo sucks, unless you're the pfr is a total maniac... and just gets you into tough decisions like this one.

as played, why bet the river??? actually, i might even check the turn to control the pot size planning to call a reasonable river bet...

I'm playing on my crappy laptop so no PT or HUD but villian was raising enough (guessing ~20-25%) to make calling with KQ ok I think.. the board was so drawy on the turn which is why I bet and the river I was trying to eek out value out of a weaker K.. I just didnt see that he could have a 5

I have not been playing very well lately and am overplaying hands.. I like your line much better

Reads? I would sometimes fold preflop, sometimes 3 bet depending on the opener, but calling is okay too. I think the river bet is a little thin and I probably wouldn't do it, and I would certainly fold to the river raise.

either check turn for pot control or river... you've been called twice what do you think he is calling with? Fold river.

meh after the turn action i think a river bet is reasonable on that card. He has KJ or QQ often enough i think. He would typically bet the turn with AK or AA i would think with the hearts out there, or if he did check he would raise your bet with those hands a reasonable amount of the time, enough to skew his hand range toward weaker holdings.

After his raise it's tough to put him on a hand, 55 seems plausible. Does he ever c/c turn with 33? He could of course have AK that has played it weirdly. Lately in these sort of spots i've been making the heroic calls and getting shown some weird slowplayed set or AA or something. So i would fold, reluctantly.

3-bet preflop. Postflop is good. Now fold.

Wow, villain is awfully strong here I would say. Probably flopped a set or AA at the very least. Could be 56 also, but i all depends on who villain is. Easy river fold though.
