It's going to be very hard to give any hard-and-fast hand rankings.
The key to Omaha High is that you want hands with all the cards working together. If you have, say, three cards that are coordinated and one that isn't, you have a dangler and that makes the hand less appealing. So, A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] is a good hand. You have lots of flush and straight potential along with the pair of aces. "Rundown" hands like 6789 are also pretty good because they can make some nice straights that will surprise weaker opponents oveplaying two pair. Hands without straight or flush potential really aren't very good in Omaha High. If you're asking about Omaha/8, you need to be playing for the scoop. You want coordinated hands, but you also want hand that can win both ways. I play in an Omaha/Hold'em rotation game. When we get a new player without Omaha experience, we suggest they just fold every Omaha hand until they get comfortable. Thank goodness they rarely listen. You need to play tighter in Omaha than in Hold'em, but the temptation will be to jump right in with all those cards. Top pair is crap and two pair on any kind of coordinated board is in trouble. Someone will often have a set even when the board isn't coordinated. Good luck.

For example, A987 with a suited ace. This hand can make several straights, and the nut flush. Or AJJ9 with a suited ace. This hand can make top set with a boat/flush redraw. It can also make a straight. Don't over look hands with 4 in a row, or 1-gap or 2-gap hands. Hands like JT98 or 9875 can flop one straight with a redraw to a bigger straight. Beware of hands where the gap is at the top: T986 is a much better hand than T876. With your straight hands, it is better that they are suited. Not so much because of their flush potential (although backdoor flushes can be profitable). Instead, the reason why T987 is better double suited than unsuited is because when you have a flush draw to go with your straight, it blocks 2 outs from someone who has a bigger flush draw hoping to beat your straight. Finally, in late position, you can play some nonpremium hands. 3 card hands with a dangler. Or hands that build middle set, etc. Or straight hands with a gap near the top.
