Default Tough river question OOP

UB $2/$4 LIMIT HE No reads.

DonkSlayer is in the BB with 10[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

EP3 raises to $4. MP2 calls $4. Sb folds, DonkSlayer calls $2.

Flop 10[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

DonkSlayer bets $2. EP3 raises to $4. MP2 raises to $6. DonkSlayer calls $4. EP3 raises to $8. MP2 calls $2. DonkSlayer calls $2.

Turn 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

DonkSlayer checks. EP3 checks. MP2 checks.

WTF?

River 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

DonkSlayer bets.

Standard? EP3 or MP2 on a scared set or QJ often enough to c/c river?

Tough to say. EP3 could have an overpair (which you beat), A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (which you beat), 99 (which you beat but which may not call the river bet), or he could've whiffed on a turn c/r with broadway, putting you on a flush draw & MP2 on something like AQ. I don't see how he could even consider checking the turn with a set or even TPTK.

MP2 could well have some sort of combo hand, a better two pair with QJ, or a worse two pair with JT. Or of course AQ, or he could be an idiot.

It feels weak, but I'd still check/call the river simply because I hate to get raised & I know that I'd feel obligated to call that raise. I have to think that one of them will fire off a bet with or without a better hand than your queens up.

Slayer,

Reads would be very helpful in this hand. Also is the table full?

I don't see why you bet the flop. The board is so draw heavy any raise will be tough to read. And a set is unlikely given you hold QT.

I'd bet the river.

I like the flop bet into the preflop raiser. Let him raise it up and face the field with two bets, especially with the draws out there.

No reads. Table is full.

Value and possibly choking off something like a 99 or AJ from MP. A set of 10's from MP2 and a especially a set of J's from EP3 is not that unlikely.

Regardless of the result, I'm reeaaallly happy that I decided to lead this river. I think AQ/KQ and especially KK would pay off a bet where they may just check the river behind, given the flop was capped.

no one has a scared set, in my opinion (no such thing really! ). someone could have had four spades, and i'm not as sure about the other guy, maybe kq or aq who got a bit worried by the action. i think your river play is fine. not sure, but i might have just gone ahead and capped the flop myself. you're obviously coming along and you might as well rep as much strength as possible.

i feel like you won this hand or would win it a fair bit.

if by check, you mean bet, then check.

NO better hand EVER checks that turn...
AA or KK and KQ here in my opinion. maybe AJs for one of them.
