Any Def Poets around??

I'm part of a secret santa with a group of friends and I was assigned a guy I don't really know too well. I do know he is really into HBO Def Poetry type stuff but I know absolutely nothing about that sorta thing.

I am lookin for a recommendation of a good book or writer of "urban poetry", if such a thing exists...

Saul Williams? He has a book too I think. I have no idea what you're looking for (Def Poetry?) but if you listen to the track Release by Blackalicious that would fit as urban poetry.
