Default Serious question about making money at poker, not going pro.

Okay first of all I have a good job, not one that I would even consider quitting to play poker fulltime. However, I also have a lot of free time, enough to get a part time "job" playing poker, dedicating myself more than I do now. I'm thinking 20 hours a week, should keep me from getting burned out and still make a little money.

My question for you all, would you rather grind it at the ring games (full only, I hate 6-max), or multitable SnG? Also if your goal for those 20 hours a week was to make 250/wk how would you go about it and how hard do you think it would be?

I'd multi-table SNG's but that's cos I suck at cash more than I suck at SNG's

Making 250 w/k playing 20 hours should be pretty easy really.

hehe, its tough to come onto the SNG forum and ask people if theyd rather play cash or sngs

but id rather play cash, sngs are a comfort zone and goal setting thing for me, its complicated

making 250 per week playing either isnt hard but depends on your roll and what not, i would start getting familiar with ROI and pt/bb for cash and figure out what you need to do, what level you need to play, how many tables at what earn rate over what sample, etc... its a ton of specifics but if you take it seriously, will be worth it. gl.

Go for SNGs-they are easier to play, and will make you less exhausted if you have a full time job. I'm pretty sure you can make a lot more if you work on your game etc.

SNG's for sure if your playing 20 hours a week and working another job. Then again I guess the real question is what is your poker background?

SNGs since it's a part time thing. SNGs fit your need perfectly, IMHO.
