Sopohmore equivalent
Hi guys, I live in New Zealand and am just interested in what the NZ equivalent is to a sopohmore. What is rough average age of a sopomore? Thanks

Officially it's the second year of university or high school (although US degrees are 4 years and I believe they have one less year of high school)

In New Zealand: Our college is 5years(your high school I think- ages 13-18), then University is 3years(18+)

Grades 1 through 8 are not otherwise individually named that I know of. (In the USA we frequently end sentences with prepositions.)
High School Grade 9 - Freshman - First year college/university High School Grade 10 - Sophomore - Second year High School Grade 11 - Junior - Third year High School Grade 12 - Senior - Fourth year Often, when people speak of these names for college "years" they are speaking in terms of credits earned based on four years to complete a typical Bachelors degree. |
