Snip
So, last Thursday I took a trip to the Urologist to have a consultation for a vasectomy. I signed up for the type that is done without a scalpel. I’d be interested in hearing some stories from others or whatever. I could post a trip report after it’s complete on Feb. 1st .
The first interesting thing though was that the consultation itself was done by a female physician’s assistant. I thought that was probably odd. At the end she asked me to drop my pants, put on a pair of rubber gloves, and slides her chair on over for a close up, and proceeds to rub my testicles. This was something I was really didn’t anticipate. After she does her examination (including the head to the side, cough deal), I set the appointment. I bet she has some interesting stories. Anyway, anyone already have this done and could share their story with me. I’m told by some that it’s pretty much not a big deal…20 minutes in and out and drive yourself home. |

Re: Snip
I looked into this once, only thing that stopped me was some liturate stating that the procedure could result in chonic testicular pain. the rate this happens varies with the doctor, so you might want to check his stats on this one. unless you're cool wit your balls aching the rest of your life.

Re: Snip
I wouldn't call it a breeze, but it wasn't that bad. They valium'd me up pretty good. was a little sore for a few days. Not really that big a deal. The worst was hearing the snip. Couldn't feel a darn thing.

Re: Snip
Your missing out. Nothing like the smell of your own tubes frying.

[ QUOTE ]
I thought most procedures were done with Lasers? [/ QUOTE ] With the procedure I'm doing, they just puncture the scrotum in two spots and do the work from there. I'm not sure how the snipping actually takes place. The idea of the scapel is that they actually cut the scrotum to get to the tubes, which then requires stiches. The puncturing procedure requires stitches. I'll post my story when completed. |
