Strange live AA hand
Live 1-2 (200) NL
I have about 450$ I'm in MP1 w/ As Ac. Raise to 12. MP2, MP4, CO and BB call. Flop 9s Tc 3d BB Checks, I bet 40 and MP4 Insta-Pushes for about 600$. Wow, big bet! He hasn't gotten out of line, but is a little frustrated over being outdrawn. I've been playing tight and showing down the best hand every time. |

Re: Strange live AA hand
without some kind of read i think its a call as people that play live 1/2NL like to spew recklessly. I wouldnt be surprised to see ace ten here against a random idiot. On the other hand I could see JQ or 9T being played this way but I would have to have a read on the opponent to lay this down.

Or muck face up and ad a Tony G line like "what is this, do you think we are in kindergarden here ?". If he semibluffs like this you double up sometime soon anyway. But i never played live, so take it for what itīs worth |

Re: Strange live AA hand
Yeah, I figured he might have AT or QJ, possibly T9. But there is a slim chance he has a set and me drawing to two outs.
For the table, both of us have decent stacks, don't I want to get my money in better than this? |

Re: Strange live AA hand
I play live almost exclusively.
Read here is very important. His range includes (in no particular order): 33, 99, TT, KK, QQ, JJ, QJ, 78s, T9, and also AT, KT and maybe even A9. His move is usually "I do not want you to call here with your gad damned draw". But if he had a set, I think He'd be more inclined to push the turn. Is he tilting because of suckouts? If so I'm pretty sure this is a call. Since he really does not want a call, he's also not looking for any more value from TPTK. If he has bottom or mid set, you have slightly more than 2 outs - but the rest of the time you either have him or have enough outs to make this a call. Without facing him though, it's hard to say if I call or fold. Based on what you've stated, I'm inclined to call here. Online I instafold though. AB |

Re: Strange live AA hand
My Read: He seemed pretty comfortable with his hand. When he pushed and it was my turn, I thought for about 10 seconds and said "Why would you bet so much?" and he said kind of angrily "Because I have the best hand!" (after having his hands get cracked on the river two previous hands), he didn't stop to consider what I had, but he wasn't really much of a thinking player. Though, in hands before, he never went all in, even with the best hand (see his hands getting cracked before). So this big bet was unusual.
Given my read, I put him on T9 60%. Then AT/KT 30%. Then OESD/Set 10%. I don't think he really put me on anything, but saw the open ender and pushed w/ 2 pair. I folded, but think I should've called given my read. |

Re: Strange live AA hand
I think it was a reasonable fold - though I do agree you should have folded face up to see how he reacted. If he had nothing and he's doing that it's only a matter of time til someone snaps him off. If he had a set or 2 pair you were in bad shape and he saved you money being a moron how he played it.
More important than your read on him is maybe what you think his read on you really was here. If he thinks you're an idiot he might just play a monster this way - if not then...weird I dunno - way too big a bet into an $80 pot. |

Re: Strange live AA hand
I think this is a call. You beat his range in a live game often enough to make this profitable.
