Stack sizes are very awkward here. I don't think you played it bad at all, (folding to a shove PF from BB yes?), but I believe the best play is to just push it in PF.

I think raising an amount other than all in isn't terrible. I'd prefer a smaller one (like 1200), but it has its pros too.

....i cant think of any. i think raising non all in is bad here, and id rather fold to be honest. the stacks are such that shorty is short but not really short enough to want to dump this given the blind level and the fact that everyone is relatively short. you are UTG 4 handed with just over 10 bbs. i dont see another option....

edit: the only possible raise i can see is raising to 1k and folding to the big stack facing heat and calling a preflop shove of the other 2, but i still do not like this option given blinds and our stack.

I don't think this option is bad at all and it is what I was referring to (hence the raise to 1200 is better comment). I don't know who BB in this hand is (probably a fish) but he's gotta have a pretty decent hand given stacks to come over the top of you. I mean, AQ is near the bottom of our raising range here.

what is better, pushing or folding?
I think folding would be weak tight and begging for 3rd place, but then again, I am no expert.

I think pushing will only get called by hands that are coin flips or better.

I agree it is a very awkward hand.

thanks for the insight.

I prefer pushing to folding. You say that you're only going to get called by coinflips or better. One, this isn't true. The shorties will call with lots of aces and some kings. Two, them folding is good for you. 600 goes to you without you having to show your hand down.
