Re: Maximizing Profit on Flopping the Nuts
I raise the turn here. The river raise is fine, but you should have really built up that pot beforehand.
Remember not to post results. ;p |

Re: Maximizing Profit on Flopping the Nuts
I fixed it for the most part, That's a good idea, I really didn't want to scare him away on the turn, what amount would u raise, up to 2 or get gutsy and go for 3 or 4?
Thanks |

Re: Maximizing Profit on Flopping the Nuts
With a board like that, they will pay you off or they won't so there's no point in trying to trap them. Thus, it's best to try and get money into the pot. Problaly just 3 on the turn.

Re: Maximizing Profit on Flopping the Nuts
I'd raise the flop, actually. Get some money from non-flushes and baby flushes before a fourth diamond hits. Chances are the J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] calls along anyway.
I think you were lucky to get much more into the pot at all after the fourth diamond hit. |

Re: Maximizing Profit on Flopping the Nuts
flop call is OK i suppose, but I would prob raise it to 1.2 or 1.4
Definitely make the turn 3-4, and then vb the river. As played make the river 4-4.5 |

Re: Maximizing Profit on Flopping the Nuts
Just raise the flop. Another diamond kills your action. If someone else was "lucky" enough to flop the flush, you need to start raising now to get the money in.
As played, what does everyone think of a river push? Seems like an overbet, but might it maximize our EV here? If a push get's called even 20% of the time that this raise does, we're making money, and a push certainly looks fishy enough on this board that MP might call if he has any diamond. |

Re: Maximizing Profit on Flopping the Nuts
I think it's pretty sexy but villian's tendencies and my own image would matter a bit.

Re: Maximizing Profit on Flopping the Nuts
I was 4x tabling and my database isn't that big yet to have a good idea on how these guys play. Before this I was pretty tight, any over bet I thought would scare, and with the amount of preflop action I was relying on someone to hit something good enough to come after me.
For a while, and now i'm back I bet a pot sized amount when I hit top pair with mid or good kicker, just to take it down right there, or feel out where my cards are. I just didn't want to raise and have everyone fold, as it happens, but your right If I go all in and get called 1/5 times it would be worth it. Thanks a lot guys. |
