Default 50NL, Can I call this river?

I didn't raise the flop because I did not want to play a huge pot on this board. I had planned on raising a blank turn, which I got, but his bet sizes starting telling me a story I did not want to hear.

Full Tilt Poker
No Limit Holdem Ring game
Blinds: $0.25/$0.50
6 players
Converter

Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
UTG calls, 3 folds, SB calls, Hero checks.

Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($1.5, 3 players)
<font color="#cc0000">SB bets $1.5</font>, Hero calls, UTG folds.

Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($4.5, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">SB bets $4.5</font>, Hero calls.

River: 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($13.5, 2 players)
<font color="#cc0000">SB bets $13.5</font>, Hero ???

What are we beating here, J9? Busted flush? Bare queen? Really looks like a straight to me...Anyone call? Why?

If you're going to call the flop and turn, you call the river. No hand that wasn't beating you to begin with appeared (besides backdoor flush, which is highly unlikely). If you thought you beat him on the flop and turn, you can't doubt yourself now. I'd flat call it. He can flip over AA, KK, QQ, AJ, A9s too.

Edit: But then again, I'd reraise flop.

I think you can raise turn small and safely fold river if he fires pot after that.

You're usually ahead on the flop vs normal villian range here, do you have a read he's tight?

I would reraise him on the flop, with a flush and straight draw out there. And no you are probably beaten right here, but I simply wouldn't have made all those calls with 2 pair. My line here would have been

Check preflop (taking the pot down here preflop is ok too, but it will be hard to cbet if you get called oop)
Reraise to $5 at the flop. If he calls or reraises me I'm out.
