2/5 AK vs. LAG
i normally just play limit, decided to play some nl and try not to suck. live 2/5.
villain is pretty lag but not completely insane. been doing things like opening pf for 35, and taking stabs at a lot of pots. there is a straddle, i make it 30 utg+1 with AK, he calls in mp, 3 other callers behind. flop KJ8r i bet 75, he raises to 150, everyone else folds. he has 500 left, and i have him covered. i push. i figure he could definitely have a str draw (though i would have thought he'd raise more). there's only 2 likely hands that beat me, KJ and 88. if he has one of these hands i'll end up getting it in when he makes turn $200 and river $300 anyway. so i just go ahead and put it in now and put pressure on the other hands. how did i do? main questions, how deep do i need to be before i consider getting away from this hand against this opponent (at any point in the hand)? how should i interpret his min raise next in after my cbet? |

Re: 2/5 AK vs. LAG
Yeah, fold flop. Transparent 1-pair hands don't do well 5-way.

Re: 2/5 AK vs. LAG
seriously fold flop? it's not like villain is some super passive guy, dude's been splashing around quite a bit.
