QQ hits top set on monotone flop...
What's the standard line here? Is this pretty much an auto-raise to 70ish? Does anyone ever call in this spot?

How is this a tough spot, raise it up to 60 or 70ish and try to get it in now.

Re: QQ hits top set on monotone flop...
OP,
The only reason I'd ever call here is if Villain is like 6/1/0.5 and I'm convinced he doesn't fire unless he has the nuts. I am looking to get top set in with a 100BB stack always, as your opponents will have much wider ranges of messing around than a made flush. Flush draws, combo draws, and other hands will play a role, and you will be missing all kinds of EV if you play this hand too timidly. Pot it. Call push. |

Re: QQ hits top set on monotone flop...
Okay, my thinking was that in this situation, with two left to act, two things could happen if I call:
1. Someone behind me raises, and I'll have the chance to reraise all-in with extra cash in the pot. 2. One or both behind might call, but I can definitely take a peak at the turn to see if a spade rolls off - if it doesn't, my equity goes way up. Thoughts on my thoughts? |

This is like a salt addict the night before going to the Planters Factory: they dream of nuts, and they'll go a long way to see if they can get the nuts. |

or, a spade can roll off, and you can get bluffed off the best hand.
or, a spade can roll off, and a lower set or a queen can fear the flush and not pay you off. |
