I didn't know this was a serious threat. I will be monitoring future advisories. The Internet Forum may be a better place for discussion of this.

what do u guys think about this? a friend of mine who recently switched sites and games from limit to no limit is convinced certain sites are largely predominated at lower fixed limit games from 1/2-10/20 by bots ( and in his theory colluding bots), but I really doubt it. I feel like i know way too many of the regulars players are definitely not bots.

what is the likelihood that many of us are playing against bots on a semi daily basis? do us thinking players have an edge against a bot program? Can we at least not give anything up to them? Any way to know these things?

Wow. That puts things in perspective. I did not realize the scope of the bot problem.

Jstill,

It's much less likely he would be up against bots playing NL than playing limit.

yeah, the exact same things have been said in this forum for a couple years now and practically every day, but no one pays attention. But Ed Miller writes about it and its suddenly "wow! I had no idea!"?

I don't mean that as a knock on you Tony, Thats just the way things work I guess. Anyway, its a well written article, I hope lots of people read it. Or maybe I don't, its kinds scary, I dunno.

people have a hard time believing that a significant number of these bots are winning and, if they are, that they are beating limits of any consequence. where's the evidence to the contrary? have bot sample sizes been posted?

and i'm not convinced about the doomsday prediction that ed makes-- that eventually online poker will be overrun by bots. i think this is too far fetched.

if they were winning, i would have expected to see a BBV "with an emphasis on brags" section at that bot forum by now.
