Default Where to buy a cat

I found a place to live alone legally, rent-free, with running water, electricity and internet access. In Los Angeles.

But I need a cat to hunt rodents.

I checked online for pet adoption places, but they want $80-$100 for a "minimum pet adoption donation." I checked Craig's List, and only found one, but its 9-years old and blind in one eye.

Anyone know where to get a good cat for cheap?

If you have enough rodents, the cats will come to you.

Just check out a shelter in your area. Bring a mouse.

Try local paper.

Pet stores usually post adoption notices as well.

Vet's offices also have bulletin boards.

People are always giving those things away; you just gotta know where to look.

Most of the time the $80 covers getting the cat spayed/neutered as well as some shots which are all things you should have done anyway.

Seriously, if this is too much, dont' bother, you know, just because you have rats, you still have to buy food and litter for it?

you will be a great pet owner, I'm sure.
