ASX Discussion Thread
So with the conclusion of AS IV, I guess it's time for me to start a thread on ASX, which will start 1/8/07.
This is an average speed game with regular roles, but I will be throwing in two concepts in. The first is outside communication is allowed. You may talk with anyone WHO IS CURRENTLY ALIVE IN THE GAME using any method (AIM, PM, etc.), including at night (still no talking at night in the thread). Dead people cannot talk or be talked to. Any conversation can be copied and pasted in the thread, and anything can be forged. I'm letting everyone know now that when I send out roles, they will only say the role ("seer" "villager" or "wolf with blank blank blank blank"). Seer picks will be revealed the same way. This is obviously a fairly big advantage for the village. That means that we either have to play with only one seer, or increase the ratio of wolves from the standard 14/5/2. Vote in the poll below. Ever wanted to pick your own role? The second idea will let you. I will start a sign-up thread on monday, three weeks before the game starts. Do not sign up in the thread. Instead, you will be PMing me which role you wish to vie for (villager, seer, or wolf). Again, there are two ways to do this. It could either be first come first serve, or I could RNG from everyone who submitted for a choice (vote below). Either way, you may only submit only one option. Choose wisely, the number of spots is very different for each role. There may be some metagame issues involved too, depending on who you are. The game will run from 10am to 10pm, Monday through Friday plus one day for the weekend. Edit: I have not decided if I will have a theme, but I'm currently leaning towards no. |

Re: ASX Discussion Thread
I think that a meta-game would be fun. This one time, we game each other 24/7 inside and outside of the thread. I voted more wolves, that would cause more havoc.

Re: ASX Discussion Thread
This is awesome.
I am in. A problem with the request system is that we could easily figure out who enjoys playing wolf most, and just lynch them happily because of probability issues. More wolves + More seers = more fun. Vanillaging sucks. |

Re: ASX Discussion Thread
<--- just realized something.
Seer can peek anyone. Once seer has a confirmed villager or multiple ones, Seer can just PM villager all their peeks, every round. Maybe 2 seers isn't the best idea... Meh. |

Re: ASX Discussion Thread
The only issue I have is that it not be called ASX. I like the fact that the Average Speed games have all been (IIRC) standard WW with seer(s), wolves, and villagers. They are the bare bones, no frills version of WW. I'm sure you can come up with some exciting name for this variation, Alex! It does sound very intriguing!!

Re: ASX Discussion Thread
Interesting concept, I will probably be in. I think you should definitely rand the roles after everyone has expressed their interest. I think a few things could go wrong with 1st come 1st serve. I voted for 1 seer. I would like to see more play and more guesswork for the village.
How will night kills work? I took your post to mean that if you recieve "wolf" you dont know who your fellow wolves are. |
