Remotely accessing primary PC
I would like to remotely access my PC to play PartyPoker and run PokerOffice at the same time.
<ul type="square">[*]What programs do I need? (PCAnyWhere?)[*]Any freeware software?[*]Is it possible to run multiple apps while accessing my PC or do I have to settle to one-tabling without PO?[*]How do I access my primary CPU? Is web based or do I have install additional app to the secondary PC?[*]I don't have the administrative rights to the secondary PCs
|

Re: Remotely accessing primary PC
VNC sounds like a better alternative, since it sounds like you'll be accessing it only within your personal network.
VNC is free and can be made secure. You'll get a window which displays the screen on the other computer (so the other computer's PO HUD won't be able to display on your apps). This means you can VNC to as many machines as you want. -Sam |

Re: Remotely accessing primary PC
If you're running XP you may want to use the built in Remote Desktop instead since it also forwards sound and will be substantially less choppy tha the VNC variants.

It might be because the secondary PC is blocking third party's software's connection to the internet. For example it wont let MS Messenger to connect either. So I quess I can only use web based remote connects? |

Re: Remotely accessing primary PC
Ok so far I have gotten two "remote controls" to work. Please make suggstions or something..?
GoToMyPC <ul type="square">[*]+ Connection is good and fast enough to comfortably four-table[*]+ PokerOffice's overlay works great[*]+ Primary PC's desktop is always sharp and readable even if secondary PC uses lower resolution than what primary PC uses[*]+ So far no connection breakdowns[*]+ It's web based so I can use it even if secondary PC blocks 3rd party software [*] - It's ~$175/year
LogMeIn <ul type="square">[*]+ It's free[*]+ It's web based[*]+ It connects... [*]- ...but only to disconnect every five minutes[*]- Desktop is fuzzy when secondary PC uses lower resulution[*]- Zoom mode is slow and not practical for multitabling
VNC <ul type="square">[*]- Does not find host[*]- Does not work on secondary PCs that dont accept 3rd party software
|

I've never seen any of these problems with LogMeIn, but looks like GoToMyPC is your solution. good luck. |
