Default A9s nfd w/ 200bbs PS 100NL 6max

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $1.00 BB (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Hero ($200.60)
UTG ($106.30)
MP ($24.05)
Button ($100)
SB ($197)

Preflop: Hero is BB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB raises to $4</font>, Hero calls $3.

Flop: ($8) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">SB bets $5</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $15</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB raises to $40</font>, Hero ???

It seems all my options are -EV here... SB is TAG. We tangled a big pot: he cracked my AA w/ 222 in a rr'ed pot.

I'd call and reevaluate turn.

Yes, you don't necessarily have to get his stack for this to be profitable. His 3B is slightly undersized so you're getting around 3:1 to hit a heart or even an ace (him having AK very unlikely and if an A hits him having AA is extremely unlikely). Add in position and I think it's a clear call.

I don't think I have the direct odds to peel one here. His hand range pretty much can be reduced to overpair/2P/sets, with overpair being most likely. Does a tag fold overpairs often enough for me to push?

He's unlikey to fold an overpair in blind battle here. This deep I probably call but none of your outs are hidden so all options kind of suck.

Call flop and push any turn.
