Flop: 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($6.35, 2 players)

I opted to go for what I figured was a value bet. Is this the correct play, should I bet here or be weary of what he may have? If i do bet how much?

I don't think there is any value in a bet here as I can't see any better hands folding as your line looks weak after the turn check on a blank card. You may get a call from smaller PP's but I prefer to check behind.

I check behind as played but I go out on a limb and say that I think valuebetting turn is in order minus a read that villain is trappy or tries to slowplay. Maybe 8$, we're not worried about denying odds on this board so 1/2 pot should suffice, too much more and worse ahnds aren't calling.
Villain maybe has QQ here but I really feel like his line indicates AK. UTG minraises often to me scream AK so I'll put him to the test and see if he can't lay it down. I also think villain might call lower pocket pairs here.
I dunno, when I see a donk minraise UTG and then check/call a board like this I really start to see $ signs flashing because 90% of the time it means they're a donkey callstation.

I would raise less preflop, $2 is good.
I would also bet less on the flop ($4), this board is dry (WA/WB).
I would bet the river, but less again ($6). A smaller bet might induce a worse hand to call (thinking middle pairs), but a big bet is only getting called when he has you beaten.
