Default Transitioning to Vista - problems with poker?

Hi

I am considering transitioning to Microsoft Vista soon, and was hoping some poker players had already done so.

Do these apps work:

- Pokertracker
- PAHUD
- Autohotkey
- TourneyManager

And what about poker clients? I don't expect problems in that department, but you never know.

I played around with Vista RC1 and a couple of clients (PS, FT, PP) and PT. But I did not try PAHUD or AHK. I had no problems, but it should also be noted I did not use the advanced desktop graphics features either.

I will bet that if anyone does have problems it will either be from the advanced graphics features or the tight security.

With Tourney Manager there might be problems with Windows Vista 64 bit because Microsoft have not released a .NET framework 64 bit provider for MS Access yet.

If you use 32 bit Vista then I wouldn't expect there to be any issues at all.

I don't think PT is capable of Windows Vista support last time I checked.

I'm fairly sure AHK is not fully operational on Vista just yet... give it time.

And what would you call it when the vast majority of the applications I run on XP just run and on Vista I am prompted to allow it to run or not? Less security?

Get real, there are a lot more security features in Vista that may well interfere with your use of software playing poker.

Thank you all for your input. I think I will install XP again, to be in the safe side.

Thanks for your input.
