Default Winter Drinks

I'm trying to branch out and drink more liquor while moving away from beer. I started drinking Tanqueray and tonic, though I've been told that is more of a "summer" drink. Tonight when I went out for dinner, I had a mojito (random pick). I didn't like it that much, the mint/lime was too much and I couldn't taste the rum. Regardless, this seems like a very summer-ish drink. The only thing I've drank on the rocks is Jameson, but I can't realistically drink those all night.

The question: "It's really cold and you will probably drink for the next four hours. Given that you aren't going to drink beer, what are you going to drink?"

Well you don't necessarily have to move away from beer, if you're defining beer as Bud, Coors, Miller, etc. Winter is a good time for dark beers like porters, stouts of all sorts (particularly imperial), and barleywines. Of course if you knew that already, then you can disregard this post. But if you're interested, there's plenty of reviews of some winter beer ideas in this thread:

I definitely do not drink Coors/Mich, etc. I'm not trying to be a dick or anything but I just want liquor suggestions.

That's cool. I'm partial to the White Russian myself actually. Plus, I love egg nog this time of year.
