TP checkraised on the turn by Gambler2k4 (3/6)
This hand was played a few days ago, so I don't remember everything about it. Gambler2k4 is a pretty straightforward regular, about 22/16.5/2.2. So, not very aggressive and not terribly creative. I'm pretty sure I was playing my normal 26/21/3.5, so he knows that my preflop range is obviously quite large, especially in a 3-handed game.

My flop check here is rare, but I felt like checking it here. This turn is innocuous and great to bet to get two calls out of a worse hand that wants to look me up, but his checkraise on the turn is very suspicious. It doesn't make much sense; I think he's probably a good enough player to stab the turn with a flush draw and not a bad enough player to think that he can try to checkraise again when the turn is a J, and he probably also realizes that checkraising the turn would normally fold out any hand other than JJJ or a slowplayed set... What should I expect to see my opponent holding? Let it go or call him down? |

Re: TP checkraised on the turn by Gambler2k4 (3/6)
I mostly bet the flop 3-handed against these guys, because I think they will frequently call me with a smaller pair and want value for my queens. Though a c/b has its merits so that they don't put you on the queen, I do it sometimes, too in order to mix up my play.
Tough decision. I base this on the general pace of the game, previous hands and my image. Against him I will call a fair time and see the River, though folding isn't a bad choice at all. Saw him making c/r against me with nothing when he thought it would take down the pot. Based on the preflop action I put him on a flush draw (maybe he caught a pair at the turn with it). He is representing a two pair though like QJ. |

I would definitely not fold the turn (unless I had some kind of really strong read), and would wait to see what happens on the river to decide whether or not to call.

why would I bluff this? I have a total of 21 dollars invested. What would be the point of myself risking 155 dollars with nothing, to win like 70 or 80. I had a set, obv...

well, that's a stupid spot to bluff. i could understand if i 3 bet him preflop. and then proceeded to check raise.
