Ok so most of you know that parlays are big -EV bets right, well not if your a luckbox they aren't!

I risked $48 to win $9,819.23

BEAT: I partially hedged the last game for $2,400 so I wound up winning $7,419.23

VARIANCE: this was my 4th ever parlay and I previously hit a four teamer for ~$3,000 (Don't try this at home unless you are a huge luckbox like me.)

Frogpond, hedge means that he was 7 for 7 on picks going into the last one so he bet that $2400 on the other side of his 8th pick so he would either win $2400 roughly or $7400. Win, Win situation. Also hedging is for pussies. It is in the SportsBetting FAQ. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

Nice, but wouldnt you get better odds if you bet $48 on the first game with the intention of betting you winnings on the next game. And continuing to roll any money on with the parlay. Be interested to see how much money you would have netted you.

Probably, but I probably would have forgot to bet one of those games or added another game that would've lost so therefore parlays= +EV
