Internet Addiction?

Recently, I have found myself to be more and more dependent on the internet. I have two papers due on Monday, and five finals to study for next week, and I am having trouble not clicking on the little Firefox icon. When the internet goes out in my house for whatever reason, it feels like I am going crazy.

It didn't always feel like this. There was a time that I did not really use the internet that much nor felt the need to; I also never happened to do everything that I had to do well ahead of time.

I am sure I am not the only one that feels like I spend too much time on the internet. What are the thoughts of OOTers, people that seem to be posting here all day, on INTERNET ADDICTION.

I think its accepted that a large percentage of the people in the USA are addicted to the Internet. I would imagine something like 70-80% of the semi-regular posters in OOT are addicted.

Personally I could not function day-to-day without the internet.

I'd say I'm addicted as well. Even though I don't have any "friends" online, I still feel isolated when the tubes get all clogged and I'm out of internet for a couple hours or whatnot.

Why would internet addicion be that big of a deal?

I'm pretty sure this is just called being lazy and procrastinating. Allow me to explain. When normal people need to do something important and want to procrastinate, they come up with any reason why they "just can't do it right now." Suddenly, they desperately need to clean the bathroom, or run some errands or some other such crap. Now people like you and I are just far too lazy to do these things, yet we still don't want to actually get anything done. Solution? Internet.

for me, its like 2am and im just running around in circles from one bookmark to the next. checking for new forum posts etc..

I get on knowing nothing will happen. I waste so much time on the net. Its sick.

I'm a very active person btw; school, excercise, other [censored], etc..

Yea the internet has made me increasingly lazy. I waste way too much time on 2p2.
