Flop 3-bet with TP, T9s
Villain is TAG at 25.5/15.8 over 133 hands with normal aggression. I've been playing tight lately.
Full Tilt Poker No Limit Holdem Ring game Blinds: $1/$2 6 players Converter Stack sizes: Button: $258.65 Hero: $325.50 Pre-flop: (6 players) Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 folds, CO calls, Button raises to $7, SB folds, Hero calls, CO folds. Flop: T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] ($17, 2 players) Hero bets $12, Button raises to $24, Hero raises to $72... I usually bet out. Sometimes I CR the flop. I think his minraise means "If Toss just calls the minraise he probably has an OESD or a pair. I can blow him off the turn if he does especially if an A, K, maybe Q falls. So I just 3-bet planning to fold to a push. If he calls I probably c/f turn UI. |

Re: Flop 3-bet with TP, T9s
i love the 3bet here because villain does this A LOT with marginal hands (in position) like AT, KT, etc. which can't call a 3bet, or even 88 or 99. I may be wrong, but it seems like villain has a hand that folds to a 3bet much more than he has 2pair (very unlikely given board/reads)/set/overpair.

yuck. I prefer just calling/leading turn or calling/c/f turn to big bet or something other than this.

I just dont see the value in it. If you are doing this for your FE meh, I'd prefer having a hand that doesnt have decent showdown value.

Re: Flop 3-bet with TP, T9s
hate the 3-bet, smooth call the re-raise, tens are not a hand that you can 3-bet with effectively, especially with this kicker. After the turn and river you'll most likely have yourself between a rock and a hard place.

Check/call flop and reevaluate the turn, probably check-folding.

If I just call then he can bet me off my hand on the turn quite a bit. If I 3-bet the flop I can be sure whether I'm behind or not. |
