detailed online gaming industry data/information?

I am hunting for some good sites with fairly reliable information about online gambling as an industry. Mostly, via google, I find lots of wishy-washy information on sites crammed with affiliate links.

Does anyone know of any scholarly research done on the topic? Even if it's just numeric data, it would help. Any sort of investment analysis or forecasting would be excellent as well.

There just isn't much literature on the topic (I found two books in my hunt, both related to legal issues).

Exactly what kind of information are you looking for?

You can certainly find financial information for any of the publically traded companies in the investor relations sections of those companies websites. The annual reports and other presentations provide a wealth of information not only on the specific company, but on the industry as well.

Most of the analyst information is done by either the global markets divisions of the major I-banks, and research houses in the UK.

That is an idea I considered, but almost completely threw away since I thought that this information wouldn't be readily available on the 'net. So, thanks for that!

Besides compiling data from individual companies or targeted studies, I'm looking for some general synopses and otherwise centralized sources of information to give me an idea of what companies to examine. Usually, I'll come across a very general idea and wish I had statistics to back it, or statistics with no hypothesis in mind.

Anything about the industry would help: consumer preference studies, technological forays, cooperation/mergers, market potential in individual countries and regions, etc.

I'm trying to write up a relatively brief, but comprehensive paper into the nature and causes of Internet Gambling as a business. And yes, I will post it up when I am done.
