Dragon slayer slayers

is it possible that the reason there are no dragons is because the dragons killed all the dragon slayer slayers and it just sickens me to think that there are no dragons because they couldn't tell the difference between dragon slayers and dragon slayer slayers. I mean it just sickens me?
