I thought this quote was interesting enough to deserve it's own thread.

Ok, based on the assumption that humans can live forever (ignoring overpopulation and other such issues), why would this eliminate the need for religion?

Several people (including Kurzweil I think - who we are talking about in another thread) believe that religions are basically for handling and preparing for death. No death = no need for religion.
