Second life lottery/casino

So I've been hearing a lot about Second Life and it got me thinking about business opportunities. Since Second Life money is tradeable into real US dollars, some of the more technically oriented of you should seriously consider getting to building something cool to sell. If I were inclined to learn the programming, I'd start a casino or a lottery. I don't know if it would work, but its an idea that is worth investigating if you understand programming.

A quick google search revealed several 2nd life casinos already operating. I don't play 2nd life so I have no idea beyond the news stories.

yeah this concept seems quite interesting, it seems more and more people are making decent money off these virtual worlds. Doesn't someone have at least some experience with WoW and making money?

Second Life should be thought of a giant get rich quick scheme. Lots and lots of people are "playing" the game to try to make lots of money with little effort. The "game" if you would call it that totally sucks ass. It lags, the graphics suck and don't render well, the world isn't set up in a way that is easy to navigate. It is basically a giant checkerboard of crap.

The game isn't going to draw people in to play for fun, like a sims online or WoW would. Those would be better games to make money at. However the problem still remains that you are 99.9% more likely to make more money (lots more) by playing cards.

LOL. I'm 99.9% to go broke playing cards. But if we played together, you're 99.9% likely to get rich.
