TD 27 - facing 2nd draw aggression w/my very rough 8

Reads -- this was villain's (BB) first hand.

Questions:
1) Is my pre-draw raise standard?
2) With NO reads, should I dump or break or call post 2nd draw raise? He's betting into a pat hand.
3) With a read the player plays straightforwardly, do I fold after being raised?
4) With a read that a player is making 9/T/J type moves on me on occasion, do I call down and cross my fingers?

I'm trying to plug leaks, and I am trying to work on when to show down any 8 or better. Right now, my instincts have been wrong -- I've dumped some hands to very strong aggression in multi-way pots which would have been winners or at least favorites. I've held some hands trying to sniff out aggro play and lost too. This post is not a results-oriented post in that regard since I actually won the hand. But since I had no reads, I called down because I was going to show down an 8 against a new player in the game. But I'm not sure this is the right decision in most cases? Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
